Rochester, Minnesota Goose Hunting Reports

Water levels are hit or miss around SE Minnesota but there are plenty of ducks in the area. The MN DNR reports for Winona states: "Unusually good numbers of wigeon around, large rafts of coot, good numbers of wood ducks and teal."

The goose hunting season has started with a bang with good numbers of geese being shot. We had decent success during the early Goose season in Rochester. Now the regular season has begun and we are already taking birds. The weather has been mild and dry.

We'll be at Game Fair coming up August 8th thru 10th and August 15th to 17th. Stop and visit us and make reservations for upcoming season. Some new fields have been added we're excited to add these to our long list of fields.

March 23rd we saw huge snow goose migration into Lake Preston, South Dakota area. Even though we have alot of ice on the lakes, birds are finding water on edges and runoff areas. We've been shooting decent number of birds but expect it to get better everyday. With the delay of spring we'll be extending our stay in South Dakota at least until 15th of April.

As of March 13th there was a good movement of birds into Lake Thompson area. Temps are to stay in mid 30's. That we'll keep birds around searching for open water.
