The cold weather on November 20th pushed a lot of birds into the Rochester area, including a big number of cacklers and greater canadians. The mild weather since has given the birds an opportunity to settle in to town so the numbers can build.
We've been waiting for the migration to push into full swing and this big load of cacklers signals that the game is on. We're also seeing the start of the greater Canadians rolling through the area. They're big and they make a nice thud when they hit the ground. We killed one bird on Wednesday that weighed 11.9 pounds.
This weekend is the last of the 2011 regular season and the weather is shaping up to be a good one. The mild weather will break out to low clouds, rain and enough wind to center the birds up in the pocket. Call to book a day with Dean and plan for a fantastic late season!
